    MMA TRAINING
    MMA training is what we’re most known for. MMA does not only include one or two specific areas of combat training. Our MMA training includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling and Ground & Pound specific training. Take your MMA training to the next level whether you’re an amateur or professional fighter.
    BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU
    Jiu-Jitsu is an important Martial Art to learn for amateurs & professionals. If you want to learn self-defense then Jiu-Jitsu is our #1 recommendation. Nearly all fights end up on the ground & our Jiu-Jitsu training will teach you how to dominate your opponents on the streets & in the cage.
    MUAY THAI

    Our Muay Thai training will have your muscles working, body sweating and calories burning. Muay Thai isn’t just a necessity for professional fighters, it’s also a fun introduction into Martial Arts for amateurs and those wanting to learn self-defense.

    BOXING
    If you’ve never stepped into a ring before, don’t worry—our boxing classes are for all ages & skill levels. MTC boxing classes focus on developing proper punching technique, combinations and footwork. Each boxing class provides individual training attention & one-on-one time with a boxing coach. You’ve never had a workout like this!

    My name is Alex and I’m the owner & founder of the Midwest Training Center mixed martial arts gym in Schaumburg, IL.  I am a 2nd degree Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Juliano Prado (Total MMA Studios, Brazilian Top Team).

    Many people know us from our success with our amateur & professional fighters, but that’s not the only thing going on at our great gym.

    Is this gym only for people that want to fight professionally?

    No. We do have a very successful “fight team” for teammates that want to fight at an amateur & professional level, but the majority of our teammates are not pursuing a fight career.

    I’ve never been to an MMA gym. Is this place really for me?

    Absolutely!  Don’t let the “Mixed Martial Arts” phrase scare you off. We welcome all skill and fitness levels for our new teammates.  Our coaches & teammates want to help you achieve your goals! We have many teammates that are also on their own fitness journey and you’ll be able to help them achieve their goals as well.  Another bonus of joining our gym is that you’ll learn important self-defense skills in a variety of classes. Together we make a great team!

    What if I don’t like getting punched in the face?

    Great news, we don’t like it either! 🙂 The vast majority of our training is instructor led & is in a safe environment.  We don’t ask teammates to spar unless they want to. Most of our training involves learning new techniques & practicing them by hitting (or holding) the pads with teammates of equal skill level.

    I want to lose weight. Should I just go to a regular gym?

    One thing that surprises new teammates is the amount of calories burned and sweat that you’ll experience with our training sessions.  Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and Wrestling classes will help you get back in shape in a fun and efficient way.
